Attorney Robert A. Champion

With years of experience as an assistant prosecuting attorney assigned to major felony prosecution of homicides, home invasion, armed robbery, and criminal sexual conduct cases, Mr. Champion has successfully litigated thousands of criminal and civil cases covering a broad range of complex legal issues.

30 years combined experience in all aspects of the criminal justice system provides Mr. Champion a unique understanding of the criminal justice process. This includes experience as a former police officer, assistant prosecutor, a private practice attorney and as an instructor and presenter with both the Michigan State Bar – Criminal Law Section and the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan on issues involving drunk driving and domestic violence.

Mr. Champion attended Ferris State University, graduating with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice.  He then attended University of Denver Sturm College of Law to receive his Juris Doctorate degree and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

In addition to be a private practice attorney specializing in criminal, civil and family law, Mr. Champion is the prosecuting attorney for the City of Plainwell and City of Otsego and the school district attorney for Parchment Public Schools.
